It's been a while but I haven't forgotten about you. Life has been crazy (for everyone, right?). I started nursing school in July 2011, Jackson started preschool in Sept 2011, Sean got a new job in Dec 2011 and Charlie has been growing like a weed!
Recently, Jackson has really enjoyed playing a game he has been borrowing from his Ammah (Grandma Susan). The game is "Legos and Starwars" (also known as Lego Starwars, you know, where Starwars is played out in a G-rated way completely by lego men and women...). Charlie, however, loves Mario Kart, so this has become a great debate in our house: what to play (for 15-20 minutes per day), Legos and Starwars, OR Mariokart?
Jackson's preschool class has a mascot, an elephant named "Katy Perry". Yes, like the singer who was married to some other famous person. The class voted on their little elephants name, and Katy Perry got the top vote! I hadn't even heard of Katy Perry before Jackson told me of his class mascot's name. We got to take Ms. Katy Perry the Elephant home for a week in the Fall of 2011 and for a couple days this Spring 2012. In the fall, we went and visited the San Diego Zoo and sought out the Elephant Exibit, which was awesome, except the elephants knew we were coming so they were as FAR from where all the onlookers are as possible. Made for an interesting challege to get pictures of Jackson, Katy Perry and the elephants in the SAME PICTURE for Katy Perry's scrapbook. This Spring, however, Katy Perry and Jackson spent a lot of time playing (yes, you guessed it) Legos and Starwars. It's all good. Katy Perry has the force and is a master Jedi now. Jackson also sewed Katy Perry an orange pumpkin and picked out fabric for a blanket that Jackson and I made for Ms Katy Perry. It was a really fun time!
